There are two ways to reach the villas by car:1st route This way is more beautiful and the most important is easiest compared with the other, but it needs 10 to 15 minutes more driving.
We follow the NATIONAL ROAD CHANIA – KISSAMOS. Before we enter KISSAMOS we turn left following the sign which shows the way to ELAFONISOS (maybe first you want to do some shopping from a food market of KISSAMOS, we turn back again). At the village KALOUDIANA – ΚΑΛΟΥΔΙΑΝΑ we turn to ELAFONISI.
You could also make a stop to the Gorge of the village TOPOLIA to enjoy the impressive view. Then we are passing through the villages (at the village ELOS you can buy Gasoline ( be careful the junction) and we keep following the signs for the ELAFONISI.
ATTENTION 1 : Before the village KEFALI we turn left as the signs says for ELAFONISI.
ATTENTION 2 : When we arrive the point where the sea is in front of us -after the village VATHI and PLOKAMIANA - we find the yellow sign of the picture and the sign INNAHORION VILLAS - then we turn right and we follow the road ,until we reach up to the Village Livadia .
For the villas Ostria and Nautilus
For the villas Neptune and Calypso 2nd routeTake the national road going west to Kissamos, where you can make a stop to do your shopping at the supermarket and fill up with gas. Continue on this road, passing the villages of Platanos, Sfinari, and Kambos. About 3 km beyond the village of Kambos, you will see on your right several indicating the INNAHORION VILLAS ,villas Ostria, Nautilus, Livadia, and Nova Sol.
Take this turnoff and continue on the paved road, passing a small hamlet, and approximately 1500 meters beyond you will reach a crossroads, and directly in front of you, a small stone house. At this junction make a right turn onto the dirt road, continuing without making any turns, until you reach the villas Neptune and Calypso, as indicated by the signs. Turning left on the paved road takes you to the village of Livadia, toward the villas Ostria and Nautilus. Upon reaching the town square, which is surrounded by a low stone wall, you will turn around to take the road back, 25 meters distance from the square. Directly in front of the house on your left, you will see the dirt road, as marked by the signs, which leads to the villas. The house will be all ready from 3 pm onwards. The key of the house is available from - Mr. ALBERTO - cell phone: 0030 6970970377
Click here to see maps of the area...The villas is located in the seaside village of Livadia, Innahorion, in the south-western part of Crete, at a distance of 72 km from Chania and 31 km from Kissamos. The village is located in the middle of the European hiking path E4 – a seaside route of exceptional natural beauty - that starts at the village of Kambos and continues through the villages of Livadia, Chrissoskalitisa and Elafonisi. The route is typical of the rugged beauty of Crete with amazing changes of the scenery between olive and locust trees and sea-beaten rocks of black and red volcanic lava.
In the village of Livadia, buying food is still done in the traditional way – you may buy fish from the fishermen in the small harbour, vegetables, dairy products and meat from the farmers, but you will also find three small taverns. There is a mini-market in the village of Kefali and larger supermarkets in the villages of Platanos and Kissamos. A gas station is located about 11 km away in the village of Elos.
The villa tenants may, if they wish, take part in the daily activities of the village people: they may charter a boat for a boating outing or fishing, they can learn about or even do some farming work, they may join the village people in their local festivities, they may take part in the annual grape picking and grape stamping to make wine, they can watch how tsikoudia (Cretan local drink) is made etc. Finally, they are sure to become friends with the village people, who still treat foreign visitors as their own guests following the Cretan hospitality tradition. |
